Two Jars of Water
어느 한숲의 작은 오두막에 살고 있는 두 사람은 하루에 두그릇 물로 살고 있었다. 그들은 매일 아침에 물을 받아 집에 가져가야 했다. 이 두 사람은 영원히 두그릇 물로 살 자신에 대해 믿고 있었다.
The two people living in a small hut in one forest lived on two jars of water per day. They had to get the water every morning. They had faith that they would always be able to live on two jars of water.
하지만 그들이 느낀 것보다 매일 더 넓어지는 숲의 면적이 무엇을 의미할지 그들에게는 잘 이해되지 않았다. 이러한 생각 없이 여러 년 동안 동일한 물 양을 받아 오는 매일의 생활이 계속되었다.
But they didn't understand what a growing forest area every day meant to them. Without thinking of such things, they kept on living their everyday life of getting the same water amount.
하지만 그들이 의심하기 전까지 두 사람의 두그릇 냉수는 여러 용도로 사용되었다. 이들은 매일 물을 받을 때 그들이 사용하고 있는 두그릇만큼만 가져와야 했다. 이들의 두그릇 냉수는 매일 생산물뿐 아니라 하루 중에 발생하는 다양한 문제에 대한 해결책으로도 사용되었다.
But before they could be suspicious, the two people's two jars of cold water were put to use for many different purposes. They had to take only the two jars they were using every time they got their water. The two jars of cold water were also used as solutions to various problems that arose during the day.
그들이 운동을 할 때는 두그릇 냉수로 몸을 닦아 주었다. 하루 중에 발생한 피로를 해소하기 위해 두그릇 냉수로 장방강에 목을 차는 것도 평소 사용되었다. 하루에 비록 두그릇 물만 사용했지만 두 사람은 밤에 끓인 두그릇 냉수로 먹이기도 한 것이다.
When they did exercise, they wiped their bodies with two jars of cold water. The use of two jars of cold water to soak the feet in a basin to relieve fatigue during the day was also often used. Though only two jars of water were used throughout the day, the two people would also feed with boiling two jars of cold water at night.
하지만 두 사람은 말하지 않지만 그들은 영원히 이런 생활을 변화 시킬 수 있길 간절히 바라는 것이었다. 이 두 사람도 생각해 보지 못한 일이 발생했다.
But, although they didn't say, the two people had a fervent wish that they could forever change this way of life. An event happened that they didn't think of.
어느 날 오두막 앞에 사람이 왔다. 이 사람은 숲의 면적이 넓어짐에 따라 두 사람을 위한 물의 양을 늘리겠다고 말했다. 그리고 이 두 사람에게는 하루면 네 그릇, 몇 시간 후에는 여섯 그릇, 몇 일 뒤에는 여덟그릇 물을 사용할 수 있다고 했다.
One day, a person came in front of the hut. This person said that with the widening of the forest area, the amount of water for the two people could be increased. And he said to the two people that they could use four jars of water a day, six jars of water a few hours later, and eight jars of water a few days later.
현금, 하나는 사람들이 이해하기 어려운 식물과 식물로부터 생기는 농산물의 길을 일깨워 주었다. 이들은 이 사항을 모두 배웠고, 물도 늘었으며 식물과 야생 동물에 대한 이해를 배웠다.
The person also opened the way for people to understand plants and farm produce coming from plants, something they would find difficult to understand. They learned everything on this matter and the water increased and they learned about plants and wild animals.
그들은 새로운 길이다시 마련되었다. 가장 짧은 방향은 물의 양이 늘었다는 것이라고 생각합니다. 이들은 오늘날 매일 하루에 여덟 그릇 물을 사용하여 생활하며, 몸과 마음을 닦기 위한 시간도 늘렸다.
They had a new path opened up again. The shortest path they thought was that the amount of water had increased. They now live their daily life using eight jars of water and also increased their time to cleanse their bodies and minds.
